The Third DIVERSify General Assembly Meeting

The Third General Assembly meeting of the DIVERSify (Designing InnoVative plant teams for Ecosystem Resilience and agricultural Sustainability) project was held online on the 2nd and 3rd of June 2020.

Around 50 members of the project attended the online meeting where we were joined by our advisory board members and our policy officer. The meeting allowed partners to catch up on the work across the project and plan activities taking place in the final year of the project.

Our first session began with an icebreaker quiz where we were challenged with matching photos submitted by DIVERSify partners with the respective people and this gave an opportunity to share what we have been working on since we last met in 2019. We then had an update on the communication activities of the project and the socio-economics work that is ongoing.

We then had updates from the work packages sharing results and plans for publication of the work. We brainstormed ideas for our decision aid name and other outputs being planned for the final year of the project. Finally we discussed our plans for project legacy and started mapping out recommendations from the project findings.

We finished the meeting with a social session in the evening allowing everyone to catch up with one another and tell us about a food local to them or a food with a link to intercropping. We had some great contributions including pasta made from wheat which was grown as an intercrop with legumes and some local delicacies from Europe and beyond.
